“We mourn, but not as those without hope.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13
It is with heavy hearts, yet firm hope, that we share the news of the passing of our dear brother and friend, Rob Karch.
Rob was more than a missionary—he was a man marked by passion. Passion for the gospel. Passion for his family. Passion for the French-speaking world to know the love of Christ. His life was a living sermon of what it means to follow Jesus with everything.
Those who knew Rob witnessed a man who burned brightly for the mission of God. Together with his beloved wife Martine, Rob gave his life to serving Christ with faithfulness, humility, and courage. His legacy continues through their children, Caleb and Constance, who carry the imprint of his love and dedication.
In moments like these, our hearts ache. But we grieve with hope. The same gospel Rob proclaimed across nations now comforts us in our sorrow. Because of Jesus, Rob is more alive today than he ever was on this earth.
We invite you to pray for Martine, Caleb, and Constance in these tender days. Let us surround them with the same love and encouragement they have extended to so many of us over the years. As a church and as a spiritual family, we also thank you for your ongoing support as we walk alongside the Karch family.
If you knew Rob, you knew his zeal. His passion. His joy in Christ. He inspired us to live boldly and love generously. Let us honour his life not only with words, but by picking up the torch he carried—by living missionally, loving faithfully, and never losing sight of the eternal hope we have in Jesus.
We miss you, Rob. But we do not say goodbye. We say, « À bientôt. »
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
